You Say It's Your Birthday

Ben's birthday was this week and we had a couple of parties to celebrate! On his actual birthday, I took the day off and we just hung out and spent the day together. It was so much fun! We went to lunch and went shopping for some new shoes for Ben, and then Ben's sister and her family watched Payson for us so we could go to dinner and movie. It was awesome to have some alone time. And we really enjoyed seeing Thor. And I know Payson loved playing with his cousins! Then on our way home we stopped and got some ice cream. It was a really really fun day.

On Saturday we had a birthday party with the Tyes and we made calzones. We had all sorts of toppings and Ben taught us how to make them. They turned out so good! They were delicious and we each made a couple of different kinds. It was a lot of fun. For his present, everyone went in together and gave him some cowboy boots and he was so excited! He has been wanting some. And now he says he will fit in with my family (since they are kind of the cowboy type!) Payson and I gave him some new pants to go with his boots! We had a really fun night.

The next night we had a big birthday bash with the Lambs for Ben and his brother Andy since their birthdays are just two days apart. We had a BBQ and had some yummy hamburgers and hotdogs. Payson ate two hotdogs! He loves them- but only when they are grilled! He wont eat them if I heat them in the microwave. Funny boy! (although I can't blame him!) We ended up having lots of desserts at the party, and we were sufficiently stuffed afterwards. They each got some great presents and Ben was so excited about his new hat, shirt, and the little utility knife he got. He was spoiled by all those who love him! We really had such a fun week celebrating his birthday.
